POST PARTUM
POST PARTUM - RIGHT NOW! HELPS WOMEN TO STAY SMOKE-FREE AT HOME AFTER PREGNANCY.
Many pregnant women stop smoking or reduce their consumption of cigarettes in order to protect the health of their children from the effects of tobacco use. About half of these women will relapse again within six months after giving birth, and within a year the figure is as high as 65-85% who start using tobacco again. «Women who have recently given birth who have stopped smoking during pregnancy are invited by trained health professionals (training by the FTGS) from the relevant department to the FTGS offer“ Now more than ever ”. The women register this with the national smoking cessation line using a web-based form.
4 weeks after discharge, the counselors on the smoking cessation line make initial contact with the women and offer accompanying telephone support for up to 3 months. The discussions are free and confidential. The advice is offered in several languages. (German, French, Italian, Romansh, Albanian, Portuguese, Spanish, Serbian / Croatian / Bosnian, Turkish, English).
Selected key persons in the hospital departments are trained in the procedure by the FTGS (background information, motivating conversation, registration in the online form).
For this purpose, the clinics / hospitals do not have to provide any financial resources of their own.
The FTGS provides poster and signage templates under the following downloads:
